.vantronix releases a new software version of the
.vantronix Firewall Operating System (.vtFOS) on March 1st, 2011.
The new version FW.48 introduces an important new capability - the
Network Migration Gateway (NMG) for IPv6.

We made our previous FW.47 release 30% faster than before by
optimizing the networking stack and memory access. Now we gained
gained another performance improvement with FW.48 by optimizing the
compiler chain and code execution path. And it is important to mention
that we handle "jumbo frames" at nearly wire speed.

The latest .vantronix software platform is based on OpenBSD 4.8, the
world's most secure operating system that emphasizes portability,
standardization, correctness, proactive security and integrated
cryptography.
OpenBSD 4.8 features significant improvements in networking, security
and scalability and includes some of .vantronix's contributions in
these areas.

After introducing our new .vantronix Firewall Manager GUI with the
FW.47 release, we optimized our .vantronix command line interface
(CLI). The modular .vantronix command line interface (amCLI) in the
FW.48 release includes a smarter error reporting, better command
handling and improved usability. The CLI can be accessed via SSH or
the out-of-band console of the .vantronix products.
The Nework Migration Gateway combines and extends the .vantronix
IPv6/IPv4 Gateway with the transparent IP security option, improved
usability, flexibility and superior performance. It is a technology to
connect legacy IPv4 clouds to latest generation IPv6 networks (IPv4-to-IPv6),
state-of-the-art IPv6 networks to the traditional IPv4 Internet (IPv6-to-IPv4), and
to provide dynamic protection with the IKEv2 IP security mechanism (IP-to-IPsec).
